In The Name Of God
سلام
به قول خود انگليسي زبونا ،idiom ها آب و رنگ مكالمه و نوشته هستند. پس بهتره كه شما هم اين آب و رنگ رو بدين...
حالا من چندتا idiom آماده كردم كه توضيح اونو مي دم .راستي اين اصطلاح ها هم ساده هستند و هم بعضي از اونا رو در زبان فارسي مي تونيم پيدا كنيم.
1- Be born to be/do sth.
To have sth as your destiny from birth.
Example: He was born to be a great composer.
*آفريده شده كه اينكاره بشه.
2- Born and bred.
Born and having grow up in a particular place with a particular back ground and education.
Example: He was born and bred in
*كسي كه در جايي خاص به دنيا آمده و تحصيلات و بنيان او مربوط به آنجا است.
3- A chicken fee.
Example: My salary is a chicken fee.
*نون بخور نمير.
4- Mean sb.
Designate, Intend.
Example: He meant her.
*كسي را نامزد كردن(ازدواج).
5- A night out.
An evening that you enjoying yourself away from home.
Example: They enjoy a night out occasionally.
*اين يكي در كشور ما خيلي رسمه اما شب هاي جمعه و تعطيل!
6- Mess up.(Informal)
Make a terrible mistake in sth.
Example: You've really messed up this time.
*اشتباه محض يا همه چيز رو خراب كردن.
7- Foul sth up.
Mess up, spoil, disturb.
Example: I've completely fouled up my exams.
*اين هم مثل قبلي اشتباه محض معني مي دهد.
8- What is sb/sth doing…?
Used to ask why sb/sth in the place mentioned.
Example: What are these shoes doing on my desk?
*اين يكي رو فكر كنم خودتون بلد باشين.
9- Do yourself up.
Make up yourself.
*سرو وضعتو درست كن(آرايش كردن،لباس نو پوشيدن و...).
10- Do's and don’ts. (Informal)
Rules that you should follow.
Example: Here are some do's and don'ts for exercise during pregnancy.
*قواعد و دستورات لازم يا همون كارهايي كه بايد انجام بگيرند و كارهايي كه بايد از انجام آنها پرهيز شود.
11- How's that.
Why?
Example:' I left work early today'.' How's that'
*به معني:به چه دليل ،چرا و...
12- What if…?
What would happen if…?
Example: What if she forgets to bring it?
*چه مشكلي پيش مياد اگه...؟
